The Dunedin Youth Orchestra currently awards three scholarships each calendar year.
- Dunedin Youth Orchestra Young Musicians’ Award:
An award is presented each September to two members of the orchestra in recognition of their outstanding musical achievement and commitment to the orchestra. They are presented with $1,000 and perform solo the following year accompanied by the orchestra. Click through for more information.
- Anthony Ritchie Composition Prize:
This award, presented annually in May, recognises excellence in orchestral composition by a composer of youth orchestra age (they do not have to be a member of the orchestra). They are presented with $1,000 and have their winning piece performed by the orchestra in the same year. Click through for more information.
